(Victorville)–It’s like a jackalope, some people swear its true and some don’t believe in it. The long awaited Nisqualli/La Mesa interchange is real and moving forward. Don’t miss next month’s VMI when SANDBAG Engineer Duane Baker and Mayor Ryan McEachron will provide updates on the famous project. The whole project started in 1990 when it was approved for a project study report for an overpass only but grew, as did the local population, until it became apparent that an interchange would be beneficial to the area. The environmental and preliminary engineering process started in 2002 and took 4 years to get approval. The new interchange will boast 8 lanes on the bridge with 3 lanes east, 3 lanes west and double left lanes. Five new traffic signals will also be constructed. Mariposa and Amargosa roads will be re-routed on a curve to allow space for on and off ramps on both sides. Don’t miss the monthly VMI as it’s a great way to learn about projects like this, re-connect with business acquaintences and make new ones. Please RSVP to Lisa De La Cruz or visit our website to register. Reservations made by October 26 will be charged $16. After the 26th the price will increase to $21. Seating is not guaranteed so arrive early.
