Tribe still divided on Hesperia Casino, after all these years

And while Mason’s faction searches for a developer to get the planned casino project on Main Street, next to the High Desert Gateway Shopping Center, going again, Gholson’s faction has a developer, but the project can’t go forward until there’s legal certainty over who really leads the Timbisha Shoshone tribe.

“We just stay in limbo,” Gholson said. “We’ve been in limbo, probably, since 2002 and 2003. … If they could have made up their mind, we would have our casino.”
