After three years of legal hurdles and delays due to the economy, two Walmart Supercenters are set to break ground in the Victor Valley on the same day and bring an estimated 385 new jobs to the area by next summer.
At 8 a.m. on July 26, Victorville will host a groundbreaking ceremony for its first Supercenter in the Dunia Plaza shopping center, near Kohl’s off Interstate 15 at Bear Valley Road.
An hour later, Hesperia will host a ceremony for its Supercenter along Main Street at Escondido Avenue.
Both projects are expected to take roughly a year to complete, Walmart spokesman Aaron Rios said, for openings in mid-2012.
